Since its inception, the department has aimed to equip students with both theoretical and practical skills to navigate evolving media landscapes. In 2016, the department expanded to offer a Master’s in Communication and Journalism, covering subjects like Communication Theory, Media Law and Ethics, Digital Media Technologies, and more. With a state-of-the-art digital studio, students gain hands-on training, preparing them for media careers. The department’s UG and PG programs attract students from across the state, maintaining strong placement rates through industry connections. Practical training is emphasized with Mic Times, a fortnightly lab journal, Mic Voice campus radio, and Mic Point, the YouTube channel. Faculty also support students in securing internships, helping alumni achieve success across various media fields.
