The growing phenomena of globalization, Liberalization and privatization has been influencing, commerce education. The technological revolution has further provided new dimensions. E-banking, e-financing, e-investment, paperless trading and governance have been gaining importance all over the world. At the same time the outsourcing business, call centers, small business operation, IT based Services etc. are expanding fast. Commerce is considered as one of the most popular career options in India. Commerce education is the backbone of the business and serial development of the nation. It covers wide area of business and society. Further it provides skill oriented education to student and society. It is in this context, department of commerce is offering two undergraduate programmes, viz. B.com with Co-operation as specialization and B.com with Finance.. Kerala enjoys the privilege of having the strongest Co- operative movement in the country providing job opportunities to lakhs of people. Careers in Co-operative organizations are particularly attractive to the women folk. The equips students to meet the challenges in an ever changing IT and industrial sector.
A hearty welcome to all students and faculty to the PG Department of Commerce, a department with a rich legacy of over ten years. Currently, the department offers three programs: B.Com in Cooperation, B.Com in Finance, and M.Com, with nearly 400 students enrolled each year.
Our vision is ‘employment through enterprise,’ and we take great pride in maintaining excellent infrastructure and a dynamic team of young, hardworking, and motivating faculty members. Together, we aim to fulfill the learning outcomes to the highest standards.
We are immensely proud of the academic achievements of our students, including university ranks, which reinforce our reputation and goodwill. The department firmly believes in integrated education, which combines excellent academic instruction with meaningful service to the industry. We have signed several Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) and are in the process of signing more, to offer students opportunities for experiential learning such as On-the-Job Training (OJT), project work, field visits, and industrial visits.
Our commitment extends beyond classroom education. We strive to provide platforms for students to develop leadership skills, ignite the spirit of patriotism, and raise awareness of social responsibilities. The tutorial system in place helps bridge the gap between slow and advanced learners, ensuring that all students benefit from personalized attention.
