Apart from having strength in traditional areas like Micro Economics and Macro Economics, the department also has expertise in handling Econometrics, Developmental Economics, International Trade, Shipping and Foreign Documentation papers. The main aim of the department is to acquaint students with theoretical and practical problems of the global and Indian Economy. Furthermore, the department also seeks to provide better competencies in problem solving, critical thinking, and policy formulation and scope in the areas of foreign trade.
